The Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) has been approved as an affiliate member of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the standard setter for global securities markets.
The announcement was made at the FPSB council meeting this week. The Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) is the FPSB's UK affiliate, responsible for assessing for and distributing the Certificate of Financial Planning (CFP) in the UK. FPSB submitted its application for consideration by the IOSCO board of directors at its October 2012 meeting in Madrid.
