Equity Release Council hires two new board members

The Equity Release Council has appointed Liz Barclay and Jim Dredge as members of its standards board.

Barclay is a non-executive director of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme and chair of the Camden Citizens Advice Bureau. She has been a consumer affair journalist for over 20 years. Dredge has over 30 years of experience in financial services with Lloyds TSB and the Financial Services Authority. The two new members will support Chris Pond, chair of the standards board, to implement consumer safeguards and better represent the trade body's expanded membership.
