Simplified advice guidance due this week

The Financial Services Authority is set to provide final guidance on simplified advice this week.

In September, the regulator published a guidance consultation outlining its definition of simplified advice, how it could be delivered and the regulatory burdens for providers. A spokesperson for the FSA confirmed final guidance would be published by the end of the week. Despite initial enthusiasm from some providers about its potential to plug the advice gap post-RDR, the concept has failed to gain significant traction.
