Cru's 12 steps to switch all clients to its funds

Cru Investment Management gave advisers a 12 step plan to migrate all of their pension and investment clients to its funds, with the offer of a lucrative succession strategy for exiting advisers if they did.

Cru encouraged advisers to invest all of their clients in what would become the CF Arch Cru fund range at a blanket rate of 1% trail commission, in a presentation one IFA has branded a "shambles to encourage churning". IFAonline has uncovered details of the presentation, including a 12 step process to walk advisers through switching all of their current clients into the Cru portfolios. Advisers who completed the 12 steps were promised preferential terms to sell their business to Cru when they wanted to retire or leave the industry. No-one at Cru could be reached for comment.
