Man Utd manager Fergie awaits tax ruling over film investment

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and ex-England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson have shared part of a £68,000 dividend in a film investment, but must wait to see whether it will yield £117m in promised tax benefits.

They invested in a Future Films scheme and bought rights to distribute two Walt Disney films, according to the Daily Mail. By borrowing heavily, the film partnership's 250 members claimed they had made huge initial losses on their investment, which they could set against their income to reduce tax bills. However, the taxman has challenged the rebates and a tribunal ruling is imminent.
