Aviva eyes firms' 'bronze' clients with simplified offering

Aviva said it will target IFAs' mid-market ‘bronze' clients with its upcoming simplified advice offering.

Director of distribution, Dean Lamble, said it has been working with independent advisers to develop a cheaper, scaled-down advice solution that might be suitable for some of their clients. Lamble said Aviva is still in the testing stage, but prototype software includes a decision tree giving clients routes to follow such as ‘People like me’, ‘Saving for an event’, and an opt-out if they want full advice. “We are looking at what is, in IFA language, the bronze customer,” Lamble said. “We are asking: 'Could you, Mr IFA, service those clients with decision trees?’.
