Lockton's Julian James elected as CII president

Julian James, the chief executive officer of insurance broker Lockton Companies International, has been elected as the new president of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

He has taken over from Chris Hanks, general manager of Allianz UK, while Amanda Blanc, chief executive of AXA Commercial, has been elected as deputy-president. The election took place at the CII's annual general meeting, held in London on 22 July, and James has become its 115th president. He said the theme for his year in the office would be 'The Next Generation of Talent'.
