Pensions minister Steve Webb faced heckling and difficult questions at a National Pensioners Convention (NPC) event yesterday.
Webb spoke at the Pensioner Parliament, an annual event organized by the NPC in Blackpool, and took questions from the audience, the BBC reports. The minister defended the government's pension reforms, and said reforms such as cuts to winter fuel payments and cold weather allowance had been planned by Labour. He faced shouts of "cobblers" and "rubbish" from the audience at this point. Webb reminded the assembly the coalition restored the link between pensions and earnings.
