Harriett Baldwin MP is calling on the government to use a reprieve on red-tape for small businesses announced in the Budget to exempt small IFA firms from the RDR.
Chancellor George Osborne announced a three-year "moratorium on new regulation" from April for businesses with fewer than ten people in last week's Budget. The move is designed to help boost enterprise and aid the recovery by cutting the cost of starting up and running a business. Baldwin, who has been a vocal supporter of IFA concerns in the House of Commons, asked financial secretary to the treasury Mark Hoban to pressure the FSA to include the RDR in the reprieve. Hoban has consistently maintained his support for the FSA's rule-making powers as an independent statutory body. ...
