FOS staff motivated by 'doing the right thing'

"Doing the right thing" has emerged as the most important value among Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) staff as part of an ongoing review.

Minutes of a board meeting on 1 February show directors David Cresswell and Jacquie Wiggett have been holding workshops with staff to discuss values and find out what "made them proud" to work for the Ombudsman. The minutes report:"‘Doing the right thing' had proved to be the most important value for staff in the workshops to date." According to the minutes, board members said they "felt most drawn to values that started with ‘we'".
