A high court judge has moved to bring an end to a three-year legal battle between HMRC and a qualifying recognised overseas pension scheme (QROPS) trustee.
Equity Trust is the trustee of daughter company Panthera's Singapore Recognised Overseas Self Invested International Pension (ROSIIP), which is a type of QROPS. The trustee took HMRC to the High Court on Tuesday 22 March to contest the Revenue's removal of the ROSIIP from its list of recognised schemes. HMRC removed the ROSIIP in 2008, arguing the scheme does not meet condition A of its requirements.
