Pension providers warn the ECJ's ban on gender-based annuity pricing is a "horrible mistake" which will damage pension income for all.
Experts warn the ruling will also put undue pressure on providers already struggling to cope with a raft of pension changes. However, pension providers have breathed a sigh of relief the ruling will only be effective from 21 December 2012, rather than immediately as previously feared.
