Aviva has overcharged 13,000 pension savers an average of £250 following 'error'.
The company is issuing hundreds of rebates worth a total of £3.25m to correct the mistake. An Aviva spokesperson says: "As part of a regular review of policies, we identified an error which meant some customers were charged more than they should have been. "We have written to them to put this right and the average addition to policies or refund we are making is £250. "We are apologising to customers for our error and for any inconvenience caused. "The vast majority of our customers are unaffected. To put this into context: this affects less than 0.5% of our pensions customers." ...
