L&G to help pay for National Football Centre

Legal & General is set to provide significant funding for the Football Association's new National Football Centre.

The firm's property investment arm, Legal & General Property, will fund the hotel and conference element of the development in Burton-on-Trent, the Independent reports. Aimed at improving the number and quality of English football coaches, in turn impacting on the development of players, the centre already has outdoor pitches, funded by the FA. However, once completed, it will have a 230-bedroom Hilton hotel, the League Managers Association's head office, a sports science and performance research centre, conference facilities and a spa.
