The FTSE had a volatile start to the day's trading as fears over conflict between North and South Korea hit gobal markets.
London's blue-chip index opened up 0.44% at 5605.64 but less than an hour later, these gains has fallen back to just 0.14%. Insurers and investment houses with interests in Asia continue to suffer while a new round of QE in the US hits Wall Street. Aviva shares fell 1.77%, Barclays was down 1.47% and Prudential dropped 1.19%, whilst Man Group suffered the worse fall of 2.88% to 266.60p.
