Cash-strapped pensioners are turning to a life of crime to fund their golden years.
Police statistics show the number of arrests of people aged 65 and over have risen by between 15% and 25% around the country since 2007. In Croydon, there was a 14% rise in over-65 arrests between 2008 and 2009, whilst even the more salubrious area of Cambridgeshire saw a rise in pensioner arrests from 119 in 2007 to 142 in 2009, the Guardian reports, However, retiree wrongdoing is not just limited to blue collar crimes.
