Just Retirement sales up 15%

Just Retirement's new business in the three months from April-June 2010 is up 14.9% on the same period last year at £245.5m.

Annuity business led the way, with the provider selling £175.7m new policies compared to 2009's £163.5m. Equity release mortgage advantages hit £69.8m, growing 39.3% on last year's £50.1m. "Sales of enhanced annuities, while a record for the group in a first quarter, were adversely impacted by increased customer deferrals as a result of market uncertainty," says Rodney Cook, chief executive of Just Retirement.
