MPs have been granted a three-hour slot for a full Parliamentary debate on the RDR.
Harriet Baldwin MP and Mark Garnier MP pitched their plan for a detailed ministerial discussion of the rule changes to the backbench business committee at 4pm yesterday. The debate will now take place in two weeks time, and could be held in the main chamber of the House of Comons. It will follow a hearing on changes to banking regulation. An official date will be announced shortly. Baldwin's office says it is expecting a high turnout for the grilling after 13 MPs intervened during the half hour RDR debate she secured last month.
