Medical assessments are to be introduced for those in receipt of the disability living allowance from 2013, the chancellor George Osborne has said.
Speaking at today's Budget he said that the amount of people receiving the benefit was three time higher than at the benefits inceptiond 18 years ago. In addition the allowance currently cost the economy £11bn a year.
