"We're better than you" Merricks pens World Cup song

Investment adviser Andrew Merricks has written a World Cup song he hopes will cheer England supporters whatever the outcome at this summer's tournament.

BetterthanU, already watched by more than 400 people on YouTube, was written entirely by Merricks and filmed and produced by "friends in the music business". In the three-minute riff, Merricks declares the England team "better" than their opponents, even when they lose, meaning England fans never need feel down in the dumps. "We're better than you," the chorus chirps, "There's nothing you can do we're better than you." Merricks, head of investments at Brighton-based Skerritt Consultants, says the idea for the song arrived when he bumped into an actor friend three months ago. Now...
