Standard Life puts 'right people in place' to build UK arm

Standard Life had finalised the restructure of its executive team, including the appointment of two new members.

Christian Torkington will join on 1 March 2010 from RSA Insurance Group as group information and operations director, heading up the firm's technology strategy. Sandy Begbie, previously at Aegon, moves to become group transformation director, working across the company alongside chief executive David Nish to lead the group's transformation plan. Nathan Parnaby, currently chief executive of Standard Life Europe, will also assume executive responsibility for the group's Asian businesses.
