MetLife increases guarantee choice on Retirement Portfolio

MetLife is increasing the choice of guarantees it offers on its Retirement Portfolio to include two-and a half year step ups.

Investors can take the option of annual income increases and capital guarantees with 10% growth potential or unlimited growth with step-ups every 30 months. Previously only three year step-ups were available. The income guarantee for clients taking income at 55 is upped from 3.3% of the fund to 3.75%. For those taking income at 60 the income guarantee is increased from 3.8% to 4.0%. MetLife is also introducing term related guarantee charges for the Secure Capital Option, with fund charges on the simplified index portfolio range starting from 0.2%.
