FSA arrests 'boiler room' fraudster

Two individuals and seven businesses thought to be part of ‘boiler room' share fraud activity were yesterday at the centre of the FSA's ongoing clamp down on share fraud.

Helped by City of London Police, the FSA used search warrants on three addresses in London and Southend in an operation leading to the arrest of one individual. Assets of up to £350,000 are now frozen after the FSA also served injunctions on the businesses and individuals involved restraining the unauthorised activities. At the epicentre of the FSA investigation are two individuals suspected of profiting directly from the activities of a number of suspected overseas boiler rooms.
