Aviva restructures UK businesses under single CEO

Aviva's UK life and general businesses will be combined under the sole leadership of UK CEO Mark Hodges.

The appointment follows Hodges' two years heading up Aviva's UK operations with Igal Mayer, who now moves to become CEO for Aviva's North American operations. Aviva says the restructuring will bring increased benefits of scale while leaving the underlying strategy of the two businesses unchanged. Robin Spencer, currently CEO of the trust's Canadian business, will take over as chief risk officer and become a member of Aviva's executive committee.
