Whitechurch makes first foray into ETF market

Whitechurch Securities has bought its first ETF, giving it a 10% exposure to natural gas prices in its higher risk Energy & Global Shift portfolio.

The exchange traded fund from ETF Securities tracks the Dow Jones UBS Natural Gas sub-index and will be held for an indefinite period. Ben Seager-Scott, senior analyst at Whitechurch Securities, says: "We have been looking at ETFs for a while. In the main we are looking for active managers who can add value. "However, we are asset allocators and sometimes we may wish to use ETFs as a tactical tool.
