IFAs given due diligence help on UK firms

Financial advisers will now be able to get a firmer grasp of the financial health of the companies with which they trade.

A new service from business information provider Plimsoll offers instant analysis on the financial health of 250,000 companies in the UK. Plimsoll says it has launched the service to help businesses get a clearer picture of their partners throughout the supply chain. David Pattison, senior analyst and architect of the One Page Analysis service, warns of the dangers to one's own business when a key supplier or customer suddenly goes bankrupt. He says this is an occurrence that has become "all too frequent" over the past 18 months, with a third of British companies selling at a loss...
