Budget portfolio tool for IFAs

IFA firm Portfolio Optimiser are launching a portfolio construction tool putting intermediaries on competitive footing with fund of funds managers.

The Portfolio Optimiser tool enables IFAs to use Harry Markowitz' theory of Modern Portfolio Construction to blend up to 10 funds for different risk profiles and performance targets. Portfolio Optimiser group is launching the product as it believes many of the tools used by large institutions are performing calculations wrong. Nigel Johnson, director of Portfolio Optimiser, says: "Our product gives IFAs the sort of tool formerly only available to large institutions but for reasonable prices."
