SVM UK Absolute Alpha added to Hargreaves' Wealth 150

Hargreaves Lansdown is recommending the SVM UK Absolute Alpha - which launched this week - via its Wealth 150.

The long/short fund made the recommendation list on the grounds manager Colin McLean has demonstrated his shorting skills on an existing fund, boasting an excellent track record. Senior analyst Meera Patel says: "We believe the overall strategy could reward long-term investors and can complement more traditional UK equity funds." However, she adds: "While the strategy is expected to lower volatility compared to traditional UK equity funds, its application of alternative investment techniques can make it a higher-risk fund.
