MATRIX Property Fund Management, a subsidiary of the Matrix group, will launch a new Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) within the next two months.
It comes as Invista Real Estate Investment Management has disclosed it is also considering launching a REIT. The introduction of UK REITs on January 1 this year has opened up the opportunities for consumers to invest in property as an asset class, in what its advocates say is a more liquid and tax-efficient vehicle. A total of nine companies including Land Securities, Hammerson and British Land, have already converted to REITs and a further 14 are expected to follow.
