Schroder has laid down a challenge to the UK Equity Income sector after launching its long awaited Global Equity Income fund.
The offering, managed by ex-DWS manager Sonja Schemmann, will focus on investing in companies which pay a good dividend yield, but which also use capital effectively to ensure they grow going forward. Schemmann said: “The overriding theme for our new fund is to pay the income, but just to focus on the income is wrong as we want to buy stocks which target dividend growth as well.” The new fund, which goes live on May 18, aims to return a yield which is 2pc higher than the MSCI All Countries World index, and it uses a bottom-up stock picking process selecting from a universe of 400 stocks o...
