BLACKROCK MLIM is appointing a new manager to its £400m equity income fund in a bid to turn around "disappointing" short-term performance.
The firm revealed that Nick McLeod-Clarke will replace Chris Littlejohns, who has run the UK Income fund since 1993. McLeod-Clarke, a former co-head of UK equities at Morley, has been the managing director of BlackRock MLIM’s UK Core team since 2001, running its institutional portfolios. Littlejohns, an industry veteran of 30 years, will remain at the group he has been with since 1986 and continue to run the £243m BlackRock Merrill Lynch Income Portfolio and £1bn in charity funds.
