Aberdeen raids Credit Suisse property team

ABERDEEN Property Investors is to launch its first bricks and mortar UK property fund to be run by seven former members of Credit Suisse's property team.

Among the departures from Credit Suisse’s 17-member team, which runs £2bn of institutional client assets in UK commercial real estate portfolios, is Glenn Newson, the head of UK property. He and colleague Chris Hillman, who leads the UK real estate team, will remain at Credit Suisse for a month to hand over their portfolios before going on gardening leave. Five other members of the team will go to Aberdeen after one month. The team currently runs primarily segregated mandates but has no retail products.
