F&C has begun the rebuild of its multi-manager team with the appointment of Paul Carne as fund manager.
Carne will report to Dean Cheeseman, head of fund of funds, who has led an undersized team since the departure of previous head Richard Philbin, who left for the AXA-backed Architas, and analyst Anna O'Donoghue. Carne joins F&C from Crosby Forsyth, where he previously worked with Cheeseman, and has been head of risk & portfolio analysis since 2001.
