F&C predicts Asian revival

F&C Investments multi-manager Julie Dent has predicted Asian companies will bounce back from last year's currency problems to become strong performers in 2007.

Dent has been running the £33.77m F&C Multi Manager Investment trust, a fund of investment trusts, for seven years. The fund is first quartile over three years and second quartile over one year in the IMA Active Managed sector, according to Lipper figures up until January 8 2007 (bid-to-bid). In terms of her management style, Dent explained her approach is driven by conviction stocks. Despite her strong track record, Dent said the last 12 months have been difficult as portfolios with an overseas bias have suffered because of the strength of sterling compared to other currencies. ...
