Vanguard to launch UK funds operation

US mutual fund manager Vanguard is set to launch a UK funds business - Vanguard Investments UK - as part of its strategy to build an integrated global asset management business.

The initial focus of the business will be on the UK financial advice market.Vanguard, one of the largest investment management companies in the world, specialises in providing high-value, low cost investment products and services and the group is currently developing its UK product plans. The UK operation, to be based in Cannon Street, will be headed by managing director Tom Rampulla, a 21 year veteran of Vanguard, who has relocated from its US operation.
