Bestinvest has reappointed John Spiers as chief executive following the departure of Andrew Barnes at the end of last month.
Spiers - who founded Bestinvest in 1986 - was chief executive until December 2006, selling his stake to 3i in the summer of 2007. Spiers commented: "I am delighted to return to the fold after a break from day-to-day involvement and look forward to working with such an enthusiastic and commitment management team and staff. The current climate presents both challenges and opportunities.
