Baring Asset Management is to follow the likes of Eclectica and Schroders in launching its own specialist agriculture fund.
Baring Global Agriculture fund will be managed by Jonathan Blake, who will aim to provide long-term capital growth by investing in companies where the majority of earnings are derived from activities relating to agriculture or have the potential to benefit from this theme. Due for launch in the third quarter this year, the fund will be a UK-domiciled Investment Company with Variable Capital (ICVC).
