ABI says FOS must be 'accessible'

THE Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) should be accessible, accountable and predictable in its approach, according to the ABI.

Commenting on the publication of Lord Hunt's review of the FOS, an ABI spokesperson asserted that the FOS should not stand in the way of better regulation, saying: "Lord Hunt's proposals for a more transparent FOS will encourage adjudicators to adopt a more consistent approach, ensuring that firms understand the FOS's position on key issues and consumers get a fairer deal.
