Julius Baer sets out case for Africa

Africa has given a dramatically improved economic performance over the past two decades and is well positioned for this to continue, according to Julius Baer's Alexander Shalash.

Shalash, who manages the firm's Northern Africa fund, argues that there are a number of important factors supporting investment in Africa, particularly political and economic reforms. He highlighted the recent upgrade of a number of Northern African countries in the World's Bank's annual ranking of ease of doing business. He added: "North African countries have also managed to further diversify their economies, with manufacturing and especially tourism, now accounting for a larger share of their economies."
