A follow-up initiative to AXA's experiment investigating the impact of financial advice has indicated that people are willing to pay for advice.
The firm recently revisited some of the participants in its AXA Avenue trial, and ascertained that they had all seen major long-term benefits from their involvement. AXA Avenue ran for a year from November 2005 and saw 20 households from Brighton participate. Half of those taking part were given access to an IFA while the remainder were left to their own devices. 18 months on AXA, said it has seen evidence that those with access to advice have gone on to adopt long-term financial planning habits - and some are considering paying for regular financial advice.
