Economies spark cautious interest

AN increasing appetite for cautious investments has been prompted by concern about the outlook for the global economy and equity markets, according to Cazenove's Robert Thorpe.

The head of the firm’s UK advisory sales said the worry has driven inflows into Cazenove’s Multi-Manager Diversity fund causing it to double in size over the last 12 months, from £25m to £50m. The fund has now received an OBSR A-rating. During 2006, the fund returned over 10pc and was 10th out of 63 funds in the IMA Cautious Managed sector.
