Brits 'lead the way' on retirement planning

BRITONS are streets ahead of their European counterparts when it comes to saving for retirement, research by AXA has suggested.

According to the study, more than seven in ten (71pc) working Brits have started financial preparations for their retirement, compared to the global average of 54pc. On average, British people start planning for their retirement at 28, some five years earlier than the international average age. However, the study also revealed that some people are still waiting until their 40s before considering their retirement income.
