Working party set up to launch PMI portal

A new working party is being launched to improve the process of getting quotations for private medical insurance through the creation of an online portal.

The party, chaired by Polaris, aims to have an action plan in place by March 2007 which addresses the fact PMI is lagging behind the rest of the insurance industry in terms of technology developments. Stephen Walker, chairman of the Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII), says one of the party’s intentions is to create a portal which enables intermediaries to do business and get quotations online.
