FOS appoints new chair

Sir Christopher Kelly KCB has been appointed as the new chairman of the Board of the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), replacing outgoing Sue Slipman.

Kelly has served on the FOS Board since 2002 and is currently chairman of the NSPCC, a board member of National Consumer Council and is formerly permanent secretary at the Department of Health. The Board operates the single ombudsman scheme set up by the FSA to deal with complaints against the financial services sector. The FSA also announced five new non-executive members to serve on the board including: Roger Sanders OBE - Principal of an Independent Financial Adviser and Employee Benefits Consultancy.
