Insurers battle headwinds - papers 9 November

The FT says the hurricanes have forced Munich Re to drop its net profits target for the year of 2bn euros to 1.8bn euros. The company’s so-called combined ratio – which sets expenses and claims against premiums – climbed to 105.8 in the third quarter compared with 95.5 in the first half of the year.
