KFI confusion continues as HBOS pushes own sites

HBOS, the biggest mortgage lender, says it will only guarantee online Key Facts Illustrations (KFIs) issued online through its own-brand websites.

The company furthermore says it is not able to verify product data on sourcing systems, a position that seems to run counter to objectives stated by the FSA, so it intends to direct all business through its Halifax, Bank of Scotland, Intelligent Finance, Birmingham Midshires and TMB websites. ”The message is clear,” HBOS says. ”Post M-Day, the only HBOS KFI to be guaranteed to be accurate will be issued online from one of the HBOS brand websites.
