FTSE continues plod into bear territory

The FTSE is slipping further into the red on Friday as it continues to slip into a 'bear' market.

As of 3.25pm, the FTSE had dropped 59.9 points, or 1.09%, to 5,416.7. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones is showing signs of recovery across the Atlantic. Friends Provident has climbed to the top of the loser’s table, dipping 6.1p to 95.4p, and is followed by ICAP and Tui Travel. Tesco, up 16.1p, or 4.71%, to 357.6 is heading the winner’s table on a strong afternoon for supermarkets. Morrison lies second after advancing 7.5p.
