The TUC has again called for a compulsory pensions pot paid for by both employers and their employees in particular to remedy systemic failures hurting women.
In a report entitled ‘Time for action’ the TUC says young women will have as little cash available for retirement as their great-grandmothers unless there is major reform on the country's pension system. The TUC says a combination of low pay compared with men, coupled with low paying jobs, part time work, jobs that don’t come with pensions as well as shorter working lives means the system is failing women.
