A website designed to raise awareness of the importance of protecting your income has been launched.

The Income Protection Task Force says www.protectingmyincome.co.uk should be the "first port of call" for people who want to know more about safeguarding their earnings. Although the site is mainly targeted at consumers, the Task Force says too many advisers "have forgotten or have never known" investment and financial planning are "pointless if the whole financial apple cart is overturned by the intervention of illness".
