BAE investigation hits FTSE

In London, the FTSE 100 fell in early trading after falls in the US and Japanese markets, down 39 points, or 0.59%, to 6,549.4.

Experian made the biggest gains with shares gaining 9.5p, or 1.61%, to 598.5p. British American Tobacco also gained this morning with shares climbing 11 points, or 0.67%, to £16.63, with Kazakhmys following on £12.74, a rise of 5 points, or 0.39%. Tate & Lyle made some minor gains, up 1.5 points, or 0.26%, to 574p, and this was closely followed by Mitchells, up 2p, or 0.23%, to 871p. BAE Systems saw big losses this morning as it was announced that the company is under investigation for corruption in the US, shares fell by 35.25 points, or 7.97%, to 407p.
